Rukia's POV:

I looked up into Ichigo's sad coffee colored eyes, always filled with so much hope and determination, but now so..sad. I could feel the tears swelling up in my eyes. He was so sad. So many thoughts were going through my head. Am I ever going to see him again? Why did this have to be this way? Why does it have to end this way? Will he even remember me once I'm gone? There were so many things that I still wanted to do with him, so many things I still wanted to say...  I looked down at my feet again. "S...So I guess this is... goodbye then..?" I said, my voice small and depressed. "This is goodbye" Ichigo replied. the tears were swelling so much more now. " Goodbye..Ichigo...." "Goodbye.. Rukia.." he said. I looked up at him my eyes shinning sadly. I faded from his vision then and there. I could no longer keep the tears from falling. I fell to my knees sobbing, hands cupped over my face. I wish that I had told him! I wish that I could have just said those three simple words! Why? Why must the ones I love be taken from me? I cried until no more tears would come. Then I just collapsed back onto the hard cold ground. staring up at the mocking stars. It seemed like hours before I sat up again. Ichigo had walked away already.

Ichigo's POV
She was looking up at me. Her big violet eyes brimmed with held back tears. Her body already fading from view. I was going to miss her so much, Her beautiful eyes, Her laugh, her voice, her very presence. Was I ever going to hear her laugh again? My mind kept going back to the time I had first met her.. " It's not shinigami, it's Rukia Kuchiki." she had said. Her body had faded all the way up to her shoulders.  She looked down again. " So... is this goodbye...?" She mumbled quietly, with sadness in her voice. oh how I wished I could comfort her! I wish my lips would say the words I have wanted to say for a long while. She won't remember me anyway, I kept thinking. Finally my lips found words. "This is goodbye" I replied. "Goodbye.. Ichigo" She was almost completely gone now. "Goodbye Rukia..." She looked up at me again her eyes big and shinning with tears, as the last of her faded from my eyes. I stood there for a about twenty minutes wanting to cry, but none would come. I already missed her. My raven, my song, my black sun, my light. I finally gave one last look at were she had been, and then headed home, missing her the whole time.
